Bear Spotting Teddy Bears Picnic

Bear Spotting Teddy Bears Picnic

Here are some Teddy Bears enjoying a picnic with some other animal friends...

Look at them in the bright sunshine!
I wonder where they are? Certainly not near where we are! It is really cold around here at the moment - January in England!! Brrrrr!!!
Well, they sent us this card to cheer us up with some nice warm Bear Hugs from their Teddy Bears picnic... Tea, Cakes, Fruit Tarts and Teddy Angel Cakes... Mmmmm - It all looks so delicious!!
Don't you wish you were there too?
Why not have a teddy bear's picnic of your own? I know I will! I have a few friends in mind to share a great time ... I'll call them right now! I hope you call your bear friends too!

Winnie The Pooh Day Tomorrow 18th Jan

Winnie The Pooh Day Tomorrow 18th Jan.

Did you know that there is a special day devoted to the world's favourite teddy bear?
Winnie the Pooh day is celebrated on the 18th of January every year.
The date is the birthday of the author of the Winnie the pooh books, A.A.Milne.
Alan Alexander Milne was born in 1882, and wrote about his son's toy animals and their adventures.
Winnie the pooh is the most popular and is the central character ... as ALL bears should be ... with his best friend piglet.
Winnie the Pooh Day is celebrated throughout the world with many people having bear activities for kids and many great parties.
... If they are near a stream or river with a foot bridge over it, I'm sire that there will be a game of Pooh-Sticks to be played, and many teddy bears picnics!

Bear Spotting Valentines Day Teddy Bear Statue

Bear Spotting Valentines Day Teddy Bear Statue

Take a look at this wooden bear statue.

This picture of a bear shows the wooden bear holding a heart on front of him.
This figure of a bear was hand carved out of wood and carefully dyed to pick out each of the bear's features. Dark brown for the bear's nose, bears ears, and bear paws and peace bear eyes...
Not forgetting, of course, the big red heart, especially for valentines day, which is only a few weeks away!
Have YOU chosen a valentines day gift for your special someone? Why not check out our website for some special teddy bear valentines day ideas?

I received a belated Christmas present (due to snow and other circumstances ...) which Santa had wrapped with special hand made paper...

As you can see, Santa knew of my favourite animal and produced the best bear wrapping paper...
And the gifts were bears too...
A wonderful wooden bear statue, and a great bear book, with lots of pictures of bears and interesting bear facts too.
I can't wait to read it and tell you all about it...

Bear Spotting Polar Bear

Bear Spotting Polar Bear
Here is a really nice cuddly polar bear!

I just want to give him a really big bear hug. His bear fur looks sooo soft you could loose yourself in it, couldn't you?
I wonder if he has just spotted a cuddly seal to play with?

Bear Spotting Adventures - Left Over Bears

Bear Spotting Adventures - Left Over Bears

These three bears were spotted in a garden centre, left over from the Christmas and January sales...

They must all live in this trunk because their bear pictures are on the side!!
But you can't have three bears without a Goldilocks looking around can you?
;-)

Here are some more left over teddy bears. I think I can count seven. How many can you see?

Oh! Wait a minute! Who is that? It's Goldilocks! She is HERE!!
But there are too many bears here..
How will she manage??
Let's hope that any porridge and furniture is safe...

Bear Spotting Adventures Ceramic Bears

Bear Spotting Adventures Ceramic Bears

I spotted this Polar Bear Sculpture at the Fortnum and Mason store in London.

Doesn't the mother look proud of her polar bear cub, as she protects him while he nestles against her?

And just look at this Panda Bear from China - and made of china I would imagine!
(Tee! Hee!)
It looks like the bamboo is drawn on him, so he will never go without!

Now, this is a very strange looking statue of a bear!
He looks like he is covered in blue feathers, and has gold claws on his hands and feet...
I wonder what type of bear he is... Do you have any ideas?

All these bears are for sale in various departments of the famous Fortnum and Mason store in London.

Bear Spotting Adventures - Build A Bear Workshop

Bear Spotting Adventures - Build A Bear Workshop®

I spotted this enormous bear at my local Build A Bear Workshop®

No, wait...
She is not that big after all...
Although she is bigger than me, at least, it is only the way the picture of bear was taken!
Phew!!

I really liked the way that her satchel design matches her own bear pattern fur.

And just look at the star on the end of the teddy bear nose!
So cute!!!

Polar Bear News

Bear Spotting Polar Bear News

For those of you who can watch BBC1, there is a repeat of a TV programme shown over the Christmas period.

It is called "Polar Bear: Spy On The Ice" and is on BBC1 on Sunday 9th Jan at 15:30 to 16:30.

I watched this programme about Polar Bears on the ice, and thought it was fantastic!!

The camera crew set up many remote cameras to record the lives of the Polar Bear mothers and cubs.
It showed how they searched for food, and made do with what they found when there no seals...

They named their cameras according to their function. My favourite was the "Blizzard Cam" which zipped all about the place with "Snowball Cam" in its pouch!!
:-)

It is well worth a watch, I learned many interesting Polar Bear facts from it.

If you have access to the BBC iPlayer, it may be available there if you miss it.

I hope you enjoy the programme about Polar Bears as much as I did!

Bear Spotting Steiff Bears in London

Bear Spotting Steiff Bears in London.

I spotted a whole hug of beautiful Steiff Teddy Bears at Fortnum and Mason in London.

These loveable teddy bears were all eager to be taken home by someone who would love them and look after them.

This Steiff Bear is even ready for his teddy bears picnic.
Checking out the contents of the hamper basket...
Just to make sure that there is enough honey, you understand!
:-)

These bears are for sale in various departments of the famous Fortnum and Mason store in London.
